Sport England is currently consulting on how to make it easier for community sport projects of access its £45 million share of sport lottery funding. CCPR, the umbrella body for sport and recreation is keen to include your views as part of this consultation. This will be important to grassroots clubs as funding for new facilities, coaching or club development could be easier to secure.
The consultation proposes regular funding rounds to increase the quality and level of participation in community sport, and establish a fund for one-off small grants to improve coaching and facilities. An Innovation Fund, to identify and promote best practice, has also been proposed.
CCPR will be responding to the consultation, the documents for which are available online at www.sportengland.org/consultation, and hard copies may be requested from the consultation helpline on 0845 850 8505 or by e-mailing consultation@sportengland.org.
In order that CCPR’s response to the consultation fully represents the views and experiences of grassroots clubs, it is crucial that we hear directly from them.CCPR has therefore put together the following questionnaire, and would be very grateful if as many grassroots clubs and projects as possible could complete and return it.Dominic Goggins will be compiling CCPR’s response, and any views can be sent to him at dgoggins@ccpr.org.uk.He can also be contacted on 0207 976 3903.
The consultation deadline is 16 September, so Dominic would be grateful if all views could be sent to him by Thursday 11 September.
